Who are the Café Moderators?
The Café Moderators are the Café regulars who were too slow to say "no" when asked if they would like to keep order in the Café. They have been given administrative powers to sort out most problems. The Café Moderators are: Alan Cresswell, babybear, Nunc Dimittis, Stoo and Motherboard. Board administrators and editors also have administrator rights in the Café.
What do they do?
First and foremost Café Moderators are members of the Café community. However, in the event of a problem they have
the technical abilities (read: absolute power) to sort things out. These include:
- Kicking or banning someone who consistently acts like a jerk.
- Close or rename inappropriately-named rooms.
- Broadcast messages which will be visible to all users in all rooms.
- Enter the Café without being seen by other users. This ability will only be used in the event of a moderator requiring evidence of jerkish behaviour without said jerk being aware of their presence. The moderator will alert some of the Café regulars to their presence via private messages.
How do I contact them if there's a problem?
In the event of a problem with the Café and a moderator isn't already present, send a broadcast
email to all moderators.
